A native of Burma and author of the
Lokuppattipakarana, written at Pagan in the thirteenth century (Gv.64, 67). The
Pitakatthamain calls the work Lokuppattipakāsanī ( Bode, 16, n.3).
The Sāsanavamsa (74) speaks of three
monks by the name of Aggapandita: Mahā-Aggapandita (evidently our author),
Dutiya-Aggapandita (his saddhivihārika), and Tatiya-Aggapandlita (his nephew),
all of Arimaddanapura and all famed for their learning.
