Preached at Jetavana.
It contains a series of questions asked by
Ananda and the
Buddha's answers. The Buddha describes various ways in which the monk can
achieve mastery of
- the elements (dhātu),
- the senses,
- the chain of causation,
- the rationally possible and
- the rationally impossible.
Other names for the sutta are Catuparivatta, Dhammādāsa,
Amatadundubhi and Anuttara Sangāmavijaya. M.iii.61ff.
