A brahmin of the Bhāradvājagotta. He goes to the Buddha and asks him the questions given in the Jatā Sutta. The Buddha gives the same answer (S.i.165). The Commentary (SA.i.179) says that he was given this name by the Recensionists because he asked a question about jatā (tangle).
