'hatelessness', non-ill-will, goodness; is one of the three kinds of right thought (s. sacca, IV. 2), or advantageous thoughts (vitakka, q.v.) and is the 9th of the 10 advantageous courses of actions (kammapatha II. q.v.).

The most frequently used synonyms are adosa (s. mūla) and mettā (s. brahma-vihāra).
