A client can discharge an attorney at any time and for any reason or for no reason at all. When this happens, the new attorney he retains, will generally write to the first lawyer and say that the client thanks him for his services, but the client has made a decision to discharge the first lawyer and hire the new attorney. That letter requests the transfer of the client’s file within a reasonable time.
